Dear Sir:
I am writing requesting permission from the proper VA authority to have reconstructive surgery performed on my right arm. I am told that in certain instances the VA permits veterans to have surgical work done by the Dr. familiar with the injury, though not connected with the VA.
Dr. H. Kelikian, 30 N.Michigan Ave., Chicago, Ill. started a long range reconstructive program of operations on my arm in June, 1947 and again in August and November of 1947. After this series of operations he recommended that I wait two years before having anything else done, which will be sometime this summer. I base my request on the fact the Dr. Kelikian is familiar with my case and feels that he can restore partial function since he has worked on my arm before and- is well acquainted with it and knows what should be done.
(text typed through) Dr. Kelikian was in the Army Medical Corp-
Would you please advise me as to what additional steps to take if this isn't sufficient.
Very truly yours,
