SCHEDULE FOR THE WEEK OF MARCH 23, 1992
TODAY, TUESDAY, MARCH 24
THE SENATE WILL CONVENE AT 2:30 P.M., AND CONDUCT A PERIOD FOR MORNING BUSINESS. IT IS EXPECTED THAT AROUND 3:00 P.M., THE MAJORITY LEADER WILL MAKE A MOTION TO PROCEED TO S. 1696, THE MONTANA WILDERNESS BILL. SENATOR LEAHY IS EXPECTED TO DEBATE THE MOTION, HOWEVER, VOTES ARE EXPECTED TO OCCUR DURING TODAY'S SESSION.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 25 - FRIDAY, MARCH 27
IT IS EXPECTED THAT THE SENATE COULD CONSIDER THE VETO MESSAGE TO ACCOMPANY THE TAX BILL, IF RECEIVED FROM THE HOUSE. ALSO, THE SENATE COULD CONSIDER ANY OF THE FOLLOWING ITEMS DURING THE REMAINDER OF THIS WEEK'S SESSION:
R.T.C. EXTENSION (EXPIRES 3/31)
CONTINUING RESOL. FOR FOREIGN OPERATIONS (EXPIRES 3/31)
LEGISLATION TO REVISE BUDGET WALLS
S. 652, TELEPHONE PRIVACY
LEGISLATION RE: THE CONSTRUCTION OF ADDITIONAL COURT SPACE IN BROOKLYN, NEW YORK

NOTE:
IT IS EXPECTED THAT THE SENATE WOULD NOT BE IN SESSION LATE ANY NIGHT THIS WEEK, AND THAT THE SENATE WOULD NOT BE IN PAST 1:00 P.M. ON FRIDAY, IN ORDER FOR REPUBLICAN SENATORS TO ATTEND OUR RETREAT.

1. Schedule:
· Very uncertain -- possibilities include the following:
· Firewall Legislation (Still in Committee. Democrats seeking agreement to take to floor for a vote.)
· Brooklyn Court House (Sequester problems exist -- trying to work out)
· Montana wilderness (continuing problems exists -- may do cloture on the motion to proceed)
· Resolution Trust Extension (expected to be reported out of Committee on Tuesday)
· Continuing Resolution for Foreign Operations (Awaiting House action)
· Telephone Privacy Act (Specter problems )
· Veto of Tax Bill (if necessary)

2. OTHER ISSUES:
· Corporation for Public Broadcasting -- discussions ongoing with Helms staff and others.
· Strategy on Democrat's Title VII Award Caps Legislation
· Senator Danforth wants to discuss package of amendments including products liability, malpractice reform, etc.
· Recission Package
· Sent up by Administration. Senator Hatfield may want to comment.
