1. Senator Mitchell has indicated desire to have early consideration of economic package and health reform package.
2. FYI: House is moving very quickly on unemployment compensation package.
3. Darman and Skinner willing to come up and brief a meeting of Senators on State of Union initiatives if there is any interest.

SCHEDULE FOR THE WEEK OF JAN. 21, 1992
TODAY, TUESDAY, JANUARY 21
THE SENATE WILL RECONVENE AT 2:15 P.M., AND CONDUCT A ROLL CALL VOTE ON THE MOTION TO INVOKE CLOTURE ON THE MOTION TO PROCEED TO THE EDUCATION BILL. IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE CLOTURE VOTE, SENATOR WOFFORD WILL TAKE THE OATH OF OFFICE TO COMPLETE HIS ELECTED TERM OF OFFICE. FOLLOWING THE SWEARING IN, THE SENATE WILL RESUME CONSIDERATION OF THE EDUCATION BILL. THEREFORE, ADDITIONAL VOTES COULD OCCUR.
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 22 - FRIDAY, JANUARY 24
THE SENATE IS EXPECTED TO REMAIN ON THE EDUCATION BILL FOR THE DURATION OF THE WEEK, IN ORDER TO COMPLETE ACTION ON THE BILL. THEREFORE, VOTES WILL OCCUR.
NOTE:
IT IS ANTICIPATED THAT THE MAJORITY LEADER WILL OBTAIN CONSENT FOR CONSIDERATION OF THE CABLE BILL, THE WEEK OF JANUARY 27, 1992. ALSO, SENATORS SHOULD BE AWARE THAT THE PRESIDENT'S STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS WILL OCCUR AT 9:00 P.M. ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 28, 1992.
