MEMORANDUM FOR THE REPUBLICAN LEADER

SUBJECT: Potential Senators to be Invited to Wednesday Luncheon with John Sununu

Yesterday we discussed getting a group of Senators here for lunch at the White House on Wednesday, March 20, with the President's Chief of Staff, John Sununu. There will probably be a drop-by by the President. You asked that I come up with a list of names of those that we might need to visit with on two issues -- civil rights and Hatch Act amendments. Below is a list based upon the recommendations of the Senate team. This list has not been shared with John yet. I wanted to talk with you first.

Please note that if we all want to get around the table in John's office, we may want to limit the group to 11. The group, however, could be larger if we perhaps used the Roosevelt Room. To make the group larger would mean adding what is shown below as "second tier."
