Dear Senator Dole,

Yesterday I was reading an article in U.S. News and World Report. On the editors page was an article about the mural in the Bicentennial Center for the District of Columbia. Of course you have heard about this painting I am sure, but the very idea that this mockery is allowed to stand makes my blood boil! What have Marx, Engels, Mao, and Stalin have to do with the United States 200th anniversary? It sounds to me that the people in that office of the Bicentennial think it is all a big joke to include more foreigners than Americans. The suggestions put up by authors of the article, Howard Flieger, are perfect. There should be great Americans up there and not funny characters.

If I had my way, that mural and all responsible would be plastered over!

Please see if you can't do something about this disgrace. I would be most pleased.
