$49,750 FOR KANSAS BICENTENNIAL PROJECTS
WASHINGTON, D.C.-- Senators Bob Dole and James Pearson today announced that the American Revolution Bicentennial Administration has awarded ten grants totaling $49,750 to Kansas communities. The funds are for use in developing and supporting Bicentennial projects and will be matched by local funds.
Following is a list of communities and the projects they have undertaken:
Dodge City $1,800. Kansas Heritage Center Multimedia Project
Arkansas City $4,950. Development of Cherokee Strip Bicentennial Park
Junction City $10,000. Festival Americana
Winona $7,500. Butterfield Trail Museum Project
Arkansas City $3,000. Arkalala Festival
Arkansas City $2,000. Art Festival
Cedar Vale $1,500. Construction of Cedar Vale Memorial Library
Cedar Vale $3,000. Publication of "History of Cedar Vale"
Topeka $6,000. History of Shawnee County
Larned $10,000. Life on the Santa Fe Trail -- Museum Restorational Work of Artifacts, Publications, etc.
