NINE KANSAS AREAS DESIGNATED AS BICENTENNIAL COMMUNITIES
WASHINGTON, D.C.--Senators Bob Dole and James Pearson today announced, through their Washington offices, that eight Kansas cities and one county have been designated as official Bicentennial Communities. by the American Revolution Bicentennial Administration.
To receive official Bicentennial designation, a community must organize a special Bicentennial planning and coordinating committee which is representative of all segments of the community and plan a Bicentennial program which will have at least one lasting reminder of the special effort the community undertook for the Bicentennial commemoration, and involve the maximum number of citizens.
Manhattan, Riley County, Cedar Vale, Clyde, Topeka, Blue Mound, Clifton, Hillsboro, and Erie.
