The Ambassador of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic
Washington, D. C. June 3, 1988
The Honorable Robert J. Dole Leader of the Republican Party United States Senate 141 SHOB Washington, D.C. 20510-1601
Dear Mr. Senator:
A delegation of three prominent Czechoslovak parliamentarians headed by Deputy Chairman of Federal Assembly of Czechoslovak Socialist Republic Mr. Bohuslav KUCERA /who at the same time is Chairman of Czechoslovak Socialist Party and Czechoslovak Society for International Relations, as well as Chairman of the Czechoslovak Committee for Security and Cooperation in Europe/ will pay visit to the United States in June, 27 - 29, 1988, as my guests.
Other two members of the delegation are Miroslav STEPAN, who is the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Federal Assembly and at the same time First Secretary of the Prague City Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia and Member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the CPCz, and Richard NEJEZCHLEB, the Chairman of the Arms Services Committee of the Federal Assembly.
The purpose of the forthcoming visit of our parliamentarians is to acquaint themselves with the functioning of the United States Congress, to exchange views on topical international issues and to explore the ways for further improvement of bilateral relations between Czechoslovakia and the United States. The delegation will have talks in the Congress, at the White House and State Department.
I would very much appreciate if you would be kind enough and receive the delegation of our Federal Assembly sometime on June 27, 28 or June 29 in the morning and to accept my invitation for dinner at my residence on Monday 27 or Tuesday 28 at 7.30. p.m.
