MEMORANDUM
OCTOBER 17, 1985 (2:00 PM)
TO: SENATOR DOLE
FROM: DAVE CORDOVA
RE: TODAY'S MEETINGS WITH ISRAELI PRIME MINISTER PERES
The only other Israeli participating in your private meeting with Peres will be the Israeli Ambassador Meir Rosenne. The other four members of the PM's party will be included in the 4:30 meeting in S 207.
Ernie will escort Peres and the Israeli Ambassador into your office through the hall while all others are ushered into your conference room, where they will remain until you are ready to escort the PM into S 207.
At the conclusion of your meeting with the PM, Walt has arranged for a photo opportunity with you and Perez. Press will walk through S 230 and the Conference Room and into your office. They will subsequently be ushered out through the door facing the old Senate Chamber.
As Al may have mentioned, because the President requested a meeting with the PM from 2:30-3:30 today, the meeting Peres was to have held with the House Foreign Affairs Committee (HFAC) was canceled and subsequently incorporated with the 4:30 meeting to which all Senators have been invited.
Also, because the way in which S 207 is organized, it will be necessary for you to escort the Prime Minister through the front door of S 207 facing the east front of the Capitol.
Sitting at the head table for the 4:30 meeting will be from left to right:
Sen Pell
Rep. Facell
Sen Byrd
PM Perez
Sen Dole
Amb Rosenne
Sen Lugar
