Dear Sir:
Enclosed is a copy of a self-explanatory letter from a constituent of mine, Mrs. (Redacted), together with a copy of the Resolution to which she refers.
It will be appreciated if this Resolution is referred to the appropriate officials for their information, consideration and whatever action is considered appropriate.
Thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter. It will also be appreciated if a response from your office can also be sent to Mrs. (Redacted).
Sincerely yours,
BOB DOLE

Dear Mrs. (Redacted):
Thanks for your letter of May 17, and enclosed copy of the Resolution adopted by the First Northwest District Kansas Federation of Republican Women on May 6, with further reference to the POW/MIA problem.
As you might guess, the Republican Resolutions Committee (Platform Committee) has also received quite a volume of mail on the subject in general. However, I am taking the liberty of forwarding a copy of your letter and the Resolution to them for their action and consideration. You will no doubt be hearing from them directly.
Am pleased to know you found the recent League of Families meeting interesting, and, of course, certainly understand why some members may have difficulty in accepting as "gospel" anything any "politician" states. However, with reference to the POW/MIA issue, I am confident everyone shares the same concern.
Regret you received four of our newsletters, and will certainly make every effort to update our mailing list. However, if you still have the mailing labels you indicated were to be enclosed with your letter, it would be most helpful in expediting this correction.
Thanks again, and best wishes. If we can be of further assistance in any way, please let me know.
Sincerely yours,
BOB DOLE

Dear Senator Dole:
Here is another of the Resolutions relating to the Republican Party platform and the POW/MIA problem. I do believe, and evidently these Republican women also believe, that it is important to have these men represented before the Convention; there is no other issue or problem to compare with that of these men and the Republican Party must give it definite focus.
The League of Families meeting was interesting -- one of the most interesting facts was that although Mr. Dolf Droge answered the same question time and time again and in various ways (but with the same meaning) many could not or would not accept his answer. The next morning when Admiral Zumwalt answered the same question in the same way, they did! I suppose the phenomenon can be explained by saying that many thought Mr. Droge's appearance purely political and so prejudiced, and that Admiral Zumwalt's was not.
handwritten in margins: Joe - note
I hope you will relay my thanks to the women in your office who secured the passes for the Congressional Tour of the White House for us -- we did appreciate it.
I am enclosing four address labels from newsletters we received today. We certainly want to be on your mailing list but once will be enough.
Trusting a solution will soon be found to the life and death problem of the prisoners of war and missing in action (and firmly believing the current direction is a step in that direction).
Sincerely yours,
(Redacted)
We mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.
