Dear Colleague:
As you know, Congress is meeting in Joint Session on Tuesday, September 22, to hear Col. Frank Borman report on his recent 11-nation journey on behalf of Americans missing in action and held as prisoners of war in Southeast Asia.
Those having the greatest interest in Col. Borman's report are the families of these servicemen. Due to seating limitations in the galleries, only a small number of family members will be admitted to the session under the announced arrangements.
A large number of family members wish to attend the session. In an attempt to enable as many of them as possible to hear Col. Borman, I am extending a personal request that you offer your passes, which are not already earmarked for POW-MIA family members from your state, to the National League of Families of American Prisoners in Southeast Asia. The phone number for the league, which has an office here in Washington, is 544-8008.
I am sure the members of the families who hear Col. Borman as a result of your generosity will be very appreciative.
Thank you for your cooperation and thoughtfulness.
Sincerely yours,
BOB DOLE
U.S. Senate
