Have reserved a car for your with Hertz (their desk is very close to the United Baggage Claim Section. From the airport -- take Quebec Street several blocks -- it runs into Interstate 70. Take Interstate 70 West -- follow it all the way to Vail. (There are places where it's under construction, but it's all marked I-70.) Also, you might want to verify with Hertz on getting to Quebec Street before you leave their desk.
