Subject: Senator Dole addressing the RNC Summer meeting in Chicago, July 9

Dear Ms. Coe:

I don't know if you remember me, but I worked with Haley back in the White House Political Office and was lucky enough to have worked on Haley's "mini" campaign for Chairman and now onto the RNC. We've spoken a few times over the years on different projects and you have always been very helpful and casy to work with,

Haley just told me he had talked with you earlier today about Senator Dole joining us at our summer meeting in Chicago. As I believe you are aware, the RNC Committee consists of three elected committee members from overy slate and tersitory which is the make-up of our two annual meetings a year. These meetings are covered by members of the national press including continuous live gavel-to-gavel coverage on CSPAN,

Attached, please find a tentative agenda for the meeting. I believe Haley mentioned the noon hour on Friday, July 9 as a possibility for Senator Dole, but please let me know if you have another thought.

Again, thank you for everything you continue to do for the Party and for Haley. Please either give Haley or myself a call for any additional information. (202) 863-8630.

Sincerely,
(handwritten) Larri

The Honorable Robert Dole

Dear Senator Dole:

As Chairman of the Linn Eagles, I am writing to invite you to speak at the annual summer event held by our organization. Linn Eagles is a Republican group based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa whose purpose is to help elect Republican candidates from Linn County.
The Linn Eagles has an excellent track record in electing Republicans. In the past six years since its inception, Linn Eagles has grown in membership to 300.
During the past three years, Linn Eagles has held an annual summer event and invites a nationally known Republican to be the featured speaker. Approximately 200 people normally attend our event. This event is enthusiastically supported by grass roots Republican and party leaders in Iowa. Featured guest speakers at past summer events have been Vice President Dan Quayle, Senator Phil Gramm and Senator Charles Grassley. The event is not a fund raiser. Its purpose is to expose our members to nationally known speakers. Our membership would be thrilled to have you as our speaker this summer. We would like to coordinate the date with Senator Grassley so that he can make the introduction.
We prefer to hold the function during a mid-week evening. We have selected the second and third weeks in August to have the event but will be flexible to accommodate Senator Grassley and your schedule.
If at all possible we would like to know if you will be able to be our guest speaker by the end of June. This will allow us time to make the necessary arrangements and obtain a big turnout of our membership.
If you or a member of your office would like additional information regarding this invitation, please contact one of the following:

Ms. JoAnne Coe
President and Executive Director
Campaign America
900 2nd Street, NE
Washington, D.C. 20002

The Honorable Robert Dole
Attn: Yvonne Hopkins

Washington, D.C. 20510
