Suite 350 Washington, D.C. 20001 (202) 393-3434 June 12, 1990 Minority Leader Robert Dole U.S. Capitol Washington, DC 20510 Dear Senator Dole: On behalf of the Armenian Assembly Summer Intern Program, I would like to invite you to speak with our interns as part of our "Capitol Ideas" series. Each year the interns meet with prominent Washington figures from the White House, the State Department, Congress and the media. Our purpose is to offer the students the opportunity to meet with government officials, decision-makers and other leaders at their offices to get a first-hand view of their work and to discuss general topics and also those of specific interest to Armenian-Americans. The Armenian Assembly Summer Intern Program is now in its thirteenth year, with participants from all over the United States. Each year forty outstanding students are selected to gain valuable professional experience working in various organizations, such as: The National Institutes of Health, the American Bar Association, the U.S. Attorney's Office, the Brookings Institute, and the Smithsonian; as well as many government agencies and Congressional offices. One of our main goals each year is to expose students to the American political process with the hope that it will increase their interest and participation in American politics. We would be honored if you could take part in the program and allow the interns to have the opportunity to meet with you personally. A11 of the interns would benefit from your knowledge and experience. Thank you for considering this request. I will contact your office in a few days to confirm receipt of this invitation.
