ANDRIESSEN VICE-PRESIDENT COMMISSION OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES Frans H.J.J. Andriessen has been a member of the Commission since 1981. His special responsibilities are agriculture and fisheries. Mr. Andriessen was Minister of Finance in the Dutch government from 1977 to 1979. He was a member of the First Chamber, or Senate, of the Dutch Parliament in 1980. He served in the Parliament's Second Chamber from 1967 to 1977, and was Chairman of the Catholic People's Party group there from 1971 to 1977. Mr. Andriessen worked from 1954 to 1972 at the Catholic Institute for Housing.
