Ms. Strange recently retired from the United States Postal Service, where she worked her way from a part-time employee to Deputy Postmaster General. As the Chief Operating Officer of the Postal Service, Ms. Strange directed a $30 billion budget and 783,000 employees. "We wanted an individual who could move the foundation forward, to make it the most effective and productive private effort involved in training and employment for the physically and mentally disabled," Senator Dole said. "Jackie Strange fills the bill. She brings to the job a rare combination of managerial skills, talent and dedication. I look forward to working with her to make the Dole Foundation the most successful advocate for handicapped employment. Ms. Strange received a B.S. in education from Georgia Southern College, and has done graduate work in education at Georgia Southern College, the University of Virginia and Columbia University. She has too grown sons and resides in Arlington, Virginia.
