Memorandum Date: March 22, 1993 To: Senator Dole From: Alec Vachon Re: Follow-up to Kansas Visit: Rainbows United/Aid Association for Lutherans (End of Letterhead) I spoke today with organizers of two events that you attended during your visit to Kansas this weekend, and both were highly satisfied. Diane Iseman of Rainbows United indicated they were very pleased with the taping at Wichita Airport on Friday, and will be sending us a copy of the final video. I expect to visit Kansas in the Spring and hope to have an opportunity to visit this program. Mike Tonn of Aid Association for Lutherans (AAL) indicated that their members were "elated with the way the morning went" on Saturday, and that the turnout for the breakfast was "tremendous" and exceeded their expectations. Although the breakfast was not scheduled to open until 8:00 a.m., they had folks lining up at 7:00 a.m. Also attending the breakfast were representatives from the home office in Wisconsin, who were very impressed with the turnout, the local members's enthusiasm, and your appearance. Given that you stayed longer than expected at the AAL breakfast, Mike hopes that you made your meeting in Kansas City on time. cc: D. Stanley
